Dr. Smith began this practice in 1995 and has treated a variety of mental health concerns. He specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder but also works with clients who are struggling with substance abuse, grief, loss, and life transitions.

​

Dr. Smith is trained as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapist. EMDR is a leading, evidence based treatment for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). To learn more about EMDR, click on the FAQ icon above. Dr. Smith also has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Therapy (RET) and family systems therapy interventions. 

 

Dr. Smith works with all individuals who might be struggling with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief or a childhood issue that might be still influencing your adult life.

 

He has a specialization in working with Firefighters, Police Officers and Military Personnel. Dr. Smith has a unique insight for these cases as a retired Fire Fighter/Paramedic/Lieutenant for the Indianapolis Fire Department and a retired Lt. Colonel in the Indiana Guard Reserve.
